I also incorporated the spider, the stars and the candy as well. I couldnt do much with the cake because it is a small cake requested by a good friend of mine for 2.

Apparently, this cake is for 3 birthday boys.

So I came up with this design.

The entire thing is american chocolate cake.

This is a very special post.

This cake is actually made by my best friend, Veronica, for her boyfriend Anthony.

She took the trouble to come all the way over and baked him a perfect, delicious, mouth watering fruit cake packed with walnuts, almonds, raisins, nutmeg, cinnamon, mixed spice and lots of BRANDY!

I must say this is one heck of a delicious cake!

She went for simple design though, with a cartoon tiger sitting on top to represent her boyfriend,

and 3 cupcakes to represent her msg of love.

All I did was helped her out on the fondant sculpting part.

The entire cake was done by Veronica.

It was a fun day!

Initially the idea of this cake was to collaborate butterflies in pink shades.

And then the shopaholic idea came along.

So I created this 2 tier cake that combines both shopaholic themed with butterflies and arranged it in a way to make it work.

The key is also made out of fondant, air dried and brushed with edible gold dust.

Lamborgini Murcielago and Disney Princess

I received a special request from a friend of a friend last week.

A lamborgini murcielago cake.

So I started off with sculpting and shaping the cake.

It was quite tricky because the length of the cake was shorter that I have expected.

So anyway, after sculpting it I iced it with chocolate ganache.

After that, I covered the car with fondant.

I wanted to dust it with gold dust to give it the shimmery effect.

Unfortunately, I bought the gold dust and left it at the store! =(

At the same time, the cousin of the birthday boy was celebrating her 7th birthday as well.

And she requested for a disney princess cake.

Lorraine's Pink Fairytale Birthday

The whole thing starts off with layering her american chocolate cake with fresh strawberries.
2 layers of strawberries with dark chocolate ganache.
Sandwiched.

The covering of the cake with generous amount of dark chocolate ganache.

Topped with of course, fresh strawberries,
which are carefully coated with a generous amount of piping jelly.

After all that is done, it was time to decorate the cake,
cupcakes and her cupcake stand.

First of all,

Heartiest congratulations to Edward and Pauline!

The love birds are now finally newly weds!

And I'm proud and honoured to be their wedding cake designer.

This is the concept sketch of their initial wedding cake.

However, Pauline asked to combine Cake 1 and Cake 2 (the one with the lace)

So I came up with this.

Lucky for me, they loved it.

It was a showstopper for the night.

from the minute Ronald and Cellus was carrying it up to the stage,

until the minute it was brought down.

Black lace upon snow ice white fondant, and velvet blood red roses.

Just incase u havent noticed, this is a 4 tiered version of Karmen and Carrie's Anna Sui themed cake.

The lace might seem a little different though, cos all 3 cakes designs are different.

The lace are drawn by me free hand, so it differs.

The Villa Cake

The long awaiting villa cake.

One of the toughest cake I had ever come across.

This is the villa cake,

together with little flower pots, bushes (that are filled with cake),

treasure chest, a swimming pool, a pavement and a bikini babe holding a phone sitting on a towel.

this took me a whole painful 7 hours to complete.

the toughest challenge?

THE WORDS!!!

holey moley!

what really frustrates me is that I cant understand what Im writing, therefore I do not know if what Im writing is correct or wrong.

THANKFULLY,

when my customer came to collect, he said it was correct.

phew!~

what a relief.

Now I have 2 days to rest and to complete my uni assignments before the other orders fills up my schedule again.

An adorable cake for an adorable girl.

I added flounder and the giant magic clam to the cake,

together with other underwater stuff.

The sea bed is made out of organic brown sugar and coloured sugar sprinkles.

I had a lot of fun baking with Ronald for the past 2 days.

We've been doing nothing but baking baking baking.

Now that all the baking is done, its time for me to tend to my assignments.

These are 180 pieces of cupcakes,

dark chocolate, peanut butter and french vanilla.

Just incase some of you might be wondering what is the difference with vanilla cupcakes and french vanilla?

Well, the difference is that french vanilla cupcakes are baked with vanilla pods.

My house smells like a bakery.

Buttons, baby milk bottles for dark chocolate and peanut butter,

and french vanilla are topped with bettercream and Australian Fairy Sprinkles.

The dark chocolate is frosted with dark chocolate ganache and then topped with snow ice fondant.

Same goes to the peanut butter one except its replaced with peanut butter ganache.

Its not overpowering, you can taste the nutty creamy flavors.

Had so much fun baking.

We manage to get Celus to snap a few photos.

This is butter cake layered with peanut butter ganache.

The fondant that is used to cover the cake is called Snow Ice Fondant and

The cuppies are made with Hershey's chocolate.

Molten dark chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter ganache.

It tastes so good, u can't stop eating em.

However, its really sad that I couldn't spend more time on the fondant part.

I had assignmetns due the next day, thus the deco is a pretty simple one.

These were ordered from my typography class lecturer.

Initially my idea was to put everyone's name on individual cupcakes,

and some specifying the typeface like kerning, leading, etc.

Kitty's Parent's Day Cupcake Bouquet

Flowers to represent her mum, and neckties to represent her dad.

I baked these for Chloe's birthday, specially requested from my lady boss whom I worked for at Pick and Pack last time when I was free.

Talking about Pick and Pack, I miss working there.

That is when all the magic happens,

when I drown myself in the amidst of arts and crafts,

I was brought away to another world of creativity without realizing the time.

She also requested for 50 Winnie The Pooh lollipop cookies,

I baked nestum shortbread for her.

It's sad that the photos of the cookies aren't with me right now, so I can't upload it yet.

Teddy goes for a DELICIOUS PICNIC!

I made this cake especially for Michelle for her birthday.

I have no idea what she likes except the fact that she love teddies and vampire diaries.

I wanted to bake her a vampire diaries cake but unfortunately, I ran out of black fondant!

So switch of plan.

Plan B.

Her teddy bear cake.

She is very petite and girly,

so I baked her a very pink and feminine-ish cake.

On the top tier, teddy bear with heart, with mini birthday cakes, cupcakes, doughtnuts, picnic cloth and hankies.

Top tier is butter cake.

Bottom, american choc.

Believe it or not, I rushed for this cake like mad!

seriously!

I was so burdened with assignments that I hadn't had time to sleep the night before.

Went to uni and finished off the last bit of assignments and finally rendered my 3D animations.

Rushed home at 6pm,

got this cake ready in AN HOUR,

and rushed to shower and straight to TWO dinner parties.

Mad schedule!

Luckily, I baked the butter and american chocolate cakes a the morning before!

So all I had was to put it all together.

Must be in the record for the fastest cake I've evr made.

Thus a bit of minor mistakes and imperfect balls.

By 7.30pm, its already sitting on the dinner table =)

Thats us, after an hour of mad rush.

Haha.

So I made this Hello Kitty cake for her.

Apparently she lovessss Hello Kitty.

So halfway through assignments I stopped and made this.

Quite tricky I must say, not half as simple as it looks.

Took me 3 hours to finish this piece!

Now its on the cake.

Hi sweeties.

I'm back.

I've been very stressed out with my assignments lately,

and mostly dealing with 3D game characters.

Whats better than destressing myself with sculpting fondant figuries?

These are for a Toy Story 3 cake.

Cartoon figurines.

Over the weekend I was busy with few cake orders.

One of course was from Jillian to her beloved.

Tom and Jerry, gucci, car, mahjong, emoticons.. etc.

All the thing he loves on cupcakes.

All 9 of em.

Along with the cuppies she ordered a cake too.

Which was very creative of her to incorporate all the elements into a piece of cake.

She requested for the cake to be shaped like 2 and 9 to represent 29,

with the 2 with James Bond elements,

and 9 with mahjong elements.

I didnt wanna put too many things on the cake to avoid looking messy.

I tried to keep it as simple as possible.

So I followed it.

Hi girls, I'm back.

I'm really proud to say that cupcake bouquets has been a major hit ever since the last vday sales.

Who could resist those sweet little packages that is not only a feast for ur tastebuds, but also looks amazingly stunning?

I have quite a number of orders for cupcake bouquets for the past week.

However, I did not manage to snap photos of each and everyone of them.

Actually that was my initial plan.

But I have one very big flaw.

I can't write chinese.

I attempted, but it looked a bit off.

So I decided to just put everything lying face down.

I was really happy that it took them only half an hour to finish the whole cake.

On the third day of CNY,

I was officially summoned by my aunt to make a special birthday cake for my baby cousin Crystal

who turned 7.

She specially requested Thomas the Train cake,

but in the end changed her mind to Disney Cars.

She also wanted me to mix and match mushrooms and ladybugs on her cake.

So I came up with this.

The car was sculpted from fondant.

Ok here goes my mistake.

I was lucky my baby cousin wasnt fussy.

I was so sleepy while doing this cake that I forgot to write Lightning Mcqueen on the front of the car!

Haha

I need to thank my cousin Claudia for waking me up and accompanying me while everyone were still sleeping.

I slept at 4am the night before and hadta wake up 3 hours later to finish this cake.

They're from Singapore.

Crystal's first birthday in Kuching so I made it extra special for her!

She super loved the cake and was so excited, she couldn't wait to dress up and cut it!

My super adorable cousins.

Thats baby Joslyn, me, Crystal, aunt Shereen and Alden.

My grandmummy requested a poker cake, Karmen requested for Audrey Hepburns perfume bottle, Keeve requested for a sculpted head of his principle, my stepdad requested for Benjamin Franklin's cake, Claudia requested for a pillow tiara princess cake, and my boyfriend wanted a car garage cake.

Oh dear.

And several more that I have forgotten.

There were many many weird requests.

The consequences of making your 7 year old cousin a birthday cake during Chinese New Year when everybody was there.

The first tier would be american chocolate,

2nd tier chocolate sponge.

I layered the first layer with brown sugar to represent sand, and the theme was more to desert like, while the 2nd tier I decorated with green grass and blue sky with mushrooms, owl, fences, ladybird and balloons.

My Anna Sui cake project II.

If any of you could recall, I made a cake similiar to this during Karmen's birthday,

except the fact that this is 1 tier and Karmen's was 2 tier.

Instead of cupcakes, this cake was replaced with lemon shortbread cookies topped with snow ice fondant and royal icing decorations.

This is the lace.

The first time round for Karmen's it took me an hour to draw.

This one took me around half an hour.

A very last minute order.

I started making this cake precisely 11pm at night.

However, it didn't take me long to finish this.

I finished everything before 1am.

Its a simple vanilla sponge cake.

A sneak peek into his birthday last December.

His fav superbike and Nissan Fairlady 350z.

The superbike cake celebrates with his family.

The bike didn't really fit into the cake,

I cut it out perfectly,

but had to alter it in the end.

The black, white and red represents the circuit.

His red velvet buttercream cake,

with pipped jelly for a shiny finish,

with his carplate as well as the key!

This cake celebrates with his close friends.

Kelvin's Bar Cake

First of all, Happy 29th Birthday to Mr Kelvin Sim!

Of course, I'm honoured to be given the privilege to design his 29th birthday cake,

especially when its specially requested by my bff, Miss Graclyn Sun!

Well, took me some time to actually came up with a proper idea for his cake.

My given task was to design any cake which is 'bar' themed with drinks.

In the end, after 10 whole hours, I came up with this.

I'm gonna be honest here,

I was a bit disappointed at myself after delivering the cake,

because I was paying so much attention to the details and shaping the cake and cutting it off bit by bit,

until the cake became so little!

I was lucky because we have cupcakes to be eaten as well.

This cake is fully edible,

except for these two walls which were combined using the same base.

The cake is made with fondant and royal icing for the bricks, wordings, wine, beer cans and draught beer.

To my dearest customers,

I would like to apologize for the lack of updates.

I haven't been taking in orders for the past month because I was on vacation in Australia.

So I'm sorry for not being able to post any sugar crafts for Christmas.

However, I will give you a sneak peek of what I managed to get my hands on in Perth!

Without any baking tools, I couldn't do much there, but I managed to get my hands on Betty Crockers Chocolate Frosting!

This is for Christmas.

I layered the vanilla sponge with mixed berries.

They have plenty of fresh berries there, so I made full use of it.

Here is my very simple vanilla sponge cake with Betty Crockers chocolate frosting.

I prepared lemon pavlova for the family too, with fresh whipped cream and fresh berries.

It was a bit disappointing because as you can see,

the whip cream melted due to the very hot weather.

It was summer and on Christmas day the temperature reached 40 degrees.

It was difficult to even keep the pavlova cool because I couldn't shove it into the fridge,

the fridge was too full with Christmas goodies!

There is our simple Christmas meal this year, away from my family.

I made sherperds pie and dessert.

and guess what I got this year from Ronald?

A cupcake maker machine!

Hahaha.

I really appreciate it!

Back in Kuching,

I taught my sister how the basics of fondant sculpting.

So I was pretty busy for the past month with more cake orders.

This is Jasmine and Rachel's 15th Birthday Cake.

Their theme would be pink chocolate rosey polkadots.

Chocolate vanilla sponge.

I put a huge bow as the cake topper.

This cake is done using snow ice fondant.

Tessa's 2nd birthday cake.

Theme?

Barnyard animals.

I gave it the most details it could possibly have.

It has little wooden gates with an apple tree, together with a duck pond, a pig sty, caterpillars, ladubug, worm, a dog and a bone, an elephant, a heart bear, a rabbit, two owls, rocks, ducks, pigs, flowers and stones.

They specially requested for pandan filling.

Initially when the cake was completely bare.

I used sky blue fondant.

Cecelia's boyfriends 25th birthday.

My task was to make a cake which consists of gym equiments,worms, cars, and hearts.

The most difficult part was to make it look CUTE.

This was what I came out with.

She specially requested tiramisu, but due to the weight of the fondant, it was quite impossible.

Finally she settled with coffee flavored cake.

There are roads and worms too.
